Because LiveRoof® is delivered 95 to 100% vegetated, and because its roots are mature and extend to the bottom of the soil at the time of installation, there is no time, cost, or risk associated with rooftop establishment. When LiveRoof is installed, it is a fully grown, fully mature green roof.
The LiveRoof plant mix consists of exceptional cultivars and species that were started from a blend of deciduous and evergreen cuttings. These are time tested proven green roof plants, many developed by LiveRoof specifically for the purpose of vegetating rooftops. These yield a carpet-like effect 12 months of the year, which works as a living mulch to discourage weeds and require minimal maintenance.
LiveRoof sells only to LiveRoof trained and certified installers. Additionally, with most jobs, a LiveRoof representative is on site to help ensure that quality control measures are met.

Because the LiveRoof system is subterranean, it is sheltered from sunlight, and therefore will not undergo photo-degradation like other systems that have edges or seams exposed to sunlight. It is warranted for up to twice as long as other systems.
LiveRoof is the only hybrid system. It is delivered in a modular package, but is monolithic, creating a continuum of soil across the roof. This means that it functions like nature and shares water, nutrients and beneficial biological organisms across the roof continuum. By not chopping the roof into metal or plastic grids, LiveRoof green roofs help to eliminate hot, cold, wet or dry spots by not segmenting the soil. The result is healthy sustainable plants.

The LiveRoof maintenance protocol calls for weeding the roof bi-weekly during the spring through fall. By weeding the roof on this schedule weeds are prevented from reseeding and therefore there are very few weeds. Using this protocol it is possible to weed an acre-size LiveRoof in just 20 minutes per visit for a combined 8 hours per year!
