In a new study conducted at the University of Melbourne Dr. Kate E. Lee illustrates a clear connection between better concentration and mental performance in those that have a view of green roofs. The study tested the concentration and mental performance of individuals. During these tests subjects were shown images of either a green roof or a traditional concrete roof. The subjects that viewed the green roof performed better than those that viewed the concrete roof. The study underscores the work of several other science professionals to better understand the biophilic response. It is becoming clear that people are connected to nature and that vegetated roofs are a great way to improve the livability of our cities. To read the results of the study click this link.
